My 84 yr old mother in law was living in an assisted living facility until 3/1 when she fell and fractured her right hip. She is recovering very slowly from the surgery on 3/2. We do not think she can go back to her ALF at this time as she is no longer independent. My husband works from home but he cannot tend to her while working. I work outside the home some days and will be managing our household tasks as well. We have a hospital bed, bedside commode, lift chair, transport chair and will have a Sara lift type device as well. She is not completely dependent but can participate in most tasks, keeping her clean and dry and comfortable are our main concerns. We will do any training necessary to be sure a caregiver is fully comfortable and capable and all needs are made clear.
