About who needs care: Traumatic Brain injury. Dependent on care 24/7 with all ADLs. Has a Peg Tube for feedings. Needs bathing, shaving, rotating positions every two hours to prevent bed sores, changing briefs regularly to keep skin dry. My mom is at home with him and able to clean, cook, laundry, manage his medications and peg tube feedings. She is unable to help with the physical duties of caring for my dad. About the care needs: My dad is very modest and unable to communicate. He understands some words and phrases but he can only speak one to three words. He would prefer males as his caregiver but we understand that is not always possible. He is a 2 assist when being transferred so we may need two caregivers at time. We are aware that insurance does not cover the cost and we are responsible to pay. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
