About who needs care: - Type 1 Diabetic - Able to move through out the house using a walker - Wears adult diapers throughout the day and at night in bed - Mild memory loss & confusion related to age (88 years old) - Has her own cellphone, laptop and tablet which she uses daily. Some confusion has resulted because of calls she has received or initiated based on misunderstandings or false assumptions. About the care needs: - Someone that can dialogue about literature (she has a library card, Kindle account and access to Joseph's books in basement of residence). - Understanding of diabetic care, risks and treatment metrics (I e: carbs in meals, glucose levels, etc.) - Familiar with the television show JEOPARDY which she enjoys every night with her glass of red wine. Services needed include: transportation, companionship, and mobility assistance.
