About who needs care: Looking for someone to take my mom out more. She had a stroke a few years back. She can still fully understand people. She can say yes and no. And a few other things. She can walk (with a walker) she is fairly mobile. Still can get around and do a lot by herself but just needs an extra hand with things. Im looking to get her get out of the house. My dad does not enjoy going out and it is getting hard for him to do things with her. She needs to get out and get some exercise and see people. Even if it is just a little shopping or just out to eat. My dad will be able to go and do some things that he needs to do and she can also get out and not feel rushed to get back home. About the care needs: The care giver should be easy going and willing to talk a lot with others. My mom was a very out going person. Loves to communicate with people but because of her stroke she isn't able to speak anymore. She knows what she wants to say but it is hard for her to get it out. The caregiver should be a little patient because she needs time to try to say what she needs to say. As far as skills they just need basic helping skills, bathroom help and moving around with her while helping. She is fairly independent. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
