About who needs care: Confidential .... only for caregivers knowledge: Widow, chronic health issues. Being tested for dementia. She has active Crohn's disease & APS. Mom loves to play card games, watch movies, fish and take drives to just get out. She does crossword puzzles. She loves to reminisce about the old days. Talk about what she used to do and who she used to be. She needs to walk every 2 hours so I try to get her up and out to the kitchen for a hot cup of tea and a snack during the day. I also try to have her call her friends and things that were normal before dad died. Due to chronic illness she is fatigued a lot. She wants to shop but easily gets tired and upset at herself. We try to do things that are fun but with an autoimmune disease it depends on how she feels. She often sends me with a list of things to get instead of going with us. Pending the Bishop's decision: I only need care for mom once a month Friday to Sunday night (over an entire weekend) due to classes being taken by my husband and I for the church. We would love to have care for her as well during the week once or twice -- just so she can get to know you and depend on you. If this works out well, it could become a permanent position. About the care needs: Honest, understanding, patient, kind We prefer caregivers for mom to have knowledge about Crohn's disease, APS & dementia. Mom also loves bird watching and looking at flowers.
