About who needs care: Current condition: Failure to thrive; getting weaker with mobility and with rising from a chair and a toilet. Weaker microwaving precooked meals. Not able to keep up with simple chores. Nearly blind from macular degeneration going on 10 plus years. Underlying conditions: fibromyalgia and environmental sensitivities (helpers and aids must please refrain from wearing perfumes, strong body deodorants, strong hair products.) She suffers from: macular degeneration, a swallowing disorder that requires all food be pureed Interests include listening to audio books, talking with two friends on the phone, talking to son and daughter-in-law, napping, little else. An ideal day is dressing in a robe, eating a little breakfast (she eats very little), listening to news updates using App technology, napping in her recliner, eating a little lunch, listening to a news story or book on tape. Maybe having a phone conversation. Napping. Eat a small dinner, listening to nightly news, listening to an audio book, using her chairlift to get upstairs for bed, sleeping. About the care needs: This person should not be gossipy or need to constantly fill the room with conversation. Some is fine, of course, but Marcy is a pretty quiet, solitary person. Always has been. They should not need to talk about their religion or their politics; ideological conversion would not be welcome. Marcy follows no sports and would not enjoy sports conversations. She is a good conversationalist though! Marcy weighs 117 pounds and if this person felt comfortable being able to pull her up from a seated position (should that ever be necessary) that would be ideal. This person should be able to offer the basic assistance of putting small dishes into the dishwasher if Marcy has been unable to do so herself. No other cleaning is necessary, as Marcy does have cleaning help. No specific hobbies or interests are necessary! Services needed include: transportation, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
