Hands-on Care Needed For Myself In Aiken

About who needs care: I am 76 y/o and in good health, other than being a paraplegic. My work history was directly or indirectly in healthcare. During my college years, I worked as an Orderly in a hospital, graduated from college with B. S. in Biology, attended a one year school for a degree in Medical Technology, ASCP, worked as a MT for 3yr as a MT in a hospital. I was recruited by Abbott Laboratories to be a Sales and Technical Representative for 2yr, then, over the next 20+ years, worked in multiple departments, including, customer Support, Quality Assurance, R&D, Supervisor/Manager roles in Pilot Plant for new products for Laboratory use, and then the Purchasing Department. During this time I obtained a Masters degree, MBA. My last position was a member of a team that was responsible for Joint Ventures or Acquisitions of products with other companies. My area of responsibility was for Purchasing and Planning of these products. Paraplegic. Need help with 1) bathing 2) dressing 3) transferring from bed to wheelchair and back to bed 4) light house keeping 5) washing clothes and putting them in correct locations 6) assist with my two small dogs. Care during 8pm-8am: Assist getting into bed, change clothes into pjs, 11-12p reposition on side, lights out, reposition during night, in a. m. help with body wash, put on day clothes and transfer into w/chair, I have a "dry" sense of humor that requires the caregiver to understand. Overall, I have a positive attitude and I try to provide the new caregiver with my knowledge of what will work best for both of us and provide safety to both of us. I am 6'5" tall and weigh about 240lbs. My back has been fused from my pelvis to mid-neck. I need assistance in rolling over and sitting up. My paralysis is from my upper chest to my toes, with loss of most sensory ability and all muscle control in that area. About the care needs: Personality: I prefer that the caregiver have a "positive" attitude with a sense of humor and able to engage in conversation on wide range of topics while still engaged in accomplishing the caregiver tasks at hand. Skills: Able to safely handle a paraplegic while performing their duties. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
