About who needs care: Requesting companionship and transportation for my 30-year-old son with a TBI, has weakness on right dominant side due to injury incurred from motor vehicle accident. Monday thru Wednesday my son volunteers at a local pizza restaurant for approximately 2 to 3 hrs each day (11 a.m. to 2 or so). He likes starting off his day going to a store to get his coffee, then walking laps at the mall before heading to his volunteer job. He likes going out to eat and going to the movies. He loves playing his video games but we like to try to get him out of the house as much as we can. He will need assistance with getting to his appts with his physiatrist and/or therapies when needed. About the care needs: We are looking for someone that can relate to my 30-year-old son, easy going, personable, is patient. Due to his brain injury he has some impairment with his speech (aphasia). It would be helpful to have someone that has an understanding about TBI. My son loves movies (DC and Marvel type are some), video games, going out to eat and socializing. His favorite sport is boxing. He seems to do well with someone closer to his age. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
