Companion Care Needed For My Mother In East Providence

About who needs care: Mother has sever scoliosis, and I am researching options for her to have someone do laundry once every 2 weeks, drive to Dr. Appointments and most importantly, accompany her to the Dr reception area when she has to go (maybe 1x every 5wks) or hardly at all if she is feeling fine. She is 86yo and starting to get a bit confused, but is really sharp as a tack. Her frailty is her biggest nemesis. She is VERY much a loner, and has been ALL her life. She just wants to remain in her apartment - until she absolutely can not. I am doing my best to help her in this goal. About the care needs: The perfect person would need a thick skin - can take a some times irritable elderly person with stride. Nothing is personal. She can snap at a person today, and be sweet as pie an hour later - need to be able move on to the next task at hand. She feels no one cares (about her health). This is NOT true. The person needs to share care/interest in the aches and pains. Mother is aggravated with society in general.... so a sense of humor, open mind. No specialized skills. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
