About who needs care: Mom is 95 years young as she is physically strong despite her small stature. No canes or walkers, no meds. Has mild dementia. Is a little bit hard of hearing. Wants to continue living in her home. She is joyful and very sweet and really needs company as I live out of state. Her house is currently in a hoarders condition and dirty, so caregiver would have to be okay with these conditions until we can get her on board with cleaning it out. Caregiver activities may include: go for walks with her down just a half block, wipe spills from kitchen countertops, microwave and inside fridge. Warm up simple meals in microwave. Wash few dishes. Give simple At-home manicures as a bonding activity. About the care needs: Caregiver should be joyful, energetic (mom responds best to this type of energy), know how to make smart jokes that will come across in the right way, have experience with foreigners, have experience with people with dementia and shirt-term memory problems, and realize that things will constantly have to be repeated, and the best way to pleasantly get her to do things is not to ask, but best to say now its time for such and such Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
