About the job
About who needs care: My FIL has light dementia but has decent awareness. He is hard of hearing but does not wear hearing aids. He cannot walk long distances but walks without assistance. Joe loves to talk about history, particularly history of the region dating back to pre-Revolutionary War colonial times. He loves talking about war history as well. Joe enjoys going shopping, particularly an antique/ gift shop. He is a former art teacher from High School and loves art and architecture. He collects many things, including books. About the care needs: Joe has lived alone for the majority of his life. His divorce in the 90s left him bitter toward women and an older male would be a good fit for him. He moved in with my husband (his son) and I, and our two kids (who are now 15 and 17) on February 14, 2021 because he required care after a stint in rehab following a serious blood infection and has been with us ever since. We desperately need a break. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
