About who needs care: My mom lives with us. She is in a hospital bed in my living room. She is not able to walk. She uses a bed pan and wears a diaper. She is able to talk clearly but has some trouble hearing. I am her caregiver, but she is not able to sit long enough in a wheelchair to go anywhere further than a short walk and some days not even that. We are trying to get some respite care to spend some time this summer with our daughter who has non verbal autism. My mom cannot be left alone so we each have to take her places separately. She mostly needs help with changing her diaper and her bedpan. She does need her food cut up small . I could have all of these ready for her caregiver. She mostly enjoys watching television shows and she is happy and easy to get along with. Happy to answer any questions you may have. About the care needs: Someone who is personable. It would be good if they were able to change an adult. My mom rolls from one side to the other to get changed. I would prefer someone who is not frail because my mom is tall and I need them to be able to help arrange her comfortably in the bed and change her. You wont be moving her out of the bed, but she may have PT therapy come to work with her depending on the date. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
