About who needs care: My mother is recovering from heart valve surgery. Due to complications of the surgery she has mobility issues. She will need someone to be there during the day to receive the physical and occupational therapist, visiting nurses. She will require assistance with bathing and going to the restroom. She will need to use a walker to get around. Some light house keeping and meal prep. My mother will also have family and friends drop over to visit. Ideally, I would need some to arrive around 8:30 before I leave for work and could stay until 6:30. My mother would require some assistance with getting dressed for the day. She loves to read, do crossword puzzles, watch TV. She was active in her Chapter. She will have some follow up doctors appointments but she can coordinate with access and I will attend the appointments. About the care needs: My mom is very quiet and polite. A person who is very kind and compassionate with a calling to care for others is a good fit. My mother is low maintenance and often will not ask for what she needs because she doesn't want to be a bother. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
