About who needs care: She is mobile and largely independent (mobile, bathes, dresses herself). Her greatest weakness is memory. She walks to the senior center (about 1 1/2 blocks) on weekdays to "exercise." We need someone to meet her in the morning, remind her to have breakfast and take her one medication, and then walk with her to the senior center. While she is there it would be helpful if they could do a load of laundry or light housework, then return to the center to walk her home. This should work between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. If possible we would also like them to return in the PM (before 7), for an hour, to check in on her before bedtime. About the care needs: It is important that they be patient and familiar with persons with short term memory problems. They should also be comfortable with an elderly person in their 90s. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
