I am looking for someone who can be a companion for my father. He is 76 with frontotemporal dementia. I am hoping to find someone with experience working with people with dementia. He needs someone to play chess with, play cards, or engage in other cognitively stimulating activities. He does not need physical assistance or help with his self care, but if you are able to help with making sure medications are organized, meals are eaten appropriately, and to-do items are organized and structured that would be ideal. If you have an interest in movies, philosophy, law, and classical music that is a plus. I would love someone to help make sure the daily needs are met (pills are organized appropriately, etc.) and then just spend time doing something cognitively stimulating such as play chess or cards, listen to and discuss classical music, go for a walk, etc. Music (especially classical), philosophy, law (he's a retired lawyer/professor), baseball, learning, movies Patient, compassionate, kind, and will seem like a friend not an employee Yes Yes, there is one dog who is a bit anxious and requires time and patience but he has a good heart.
