About who needs care: My mother is 93, and mentally declining rapidly over the past year. She loses everything from keys to money, to personal items, with no recollection of having handled them. We have had to disconnect her stove, and she now prepares her meals in the microwave. However, she does not eat regularly or healthily. She is often fearful of being alone after dark, so these days are difficult for her. She is physically mobile and enjoys shopping. About the care needs: My mother has no hobbies. She is hard of hearing, losing eyesight to Macular Degeneration. She spends much of her day inches away from a large screen TV, watching Newsmax. We would like to find a caregiver who can do light cleaning, prepare healthy meals for her, and keep her company. This would involve perhaps 2-3 visits a week. My brother and I take her out about 3-5 times a week, but on the days we cannot do so, it would be helpful to have someone she would come to know help out. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
