About who needs care: Beginning stages of Alzheimer's. Limited use of right arm. Recent incident of tachycardia- first time that we know of. She watches TV mostly news. She enjoys running errands, going out to lunch. She used to read, do crosswords, play solitaire- I think this is getting confusing for her now. Ideal day- get up around 9am- breakfast w/ coffee. A little clean up around the house (dishes/laundry/make bed, Ideally, she'd do a little exercise , shower get dressed. Go out for lunch, run an errand or two or ride in a car. Come home- dinner and relax/have a visitor. About the care needs: Kind and patient, but is honest and direct with instruction and what to expect, uses humor... Alzheimer's- ability to assist with walking, help with bathing, washing hair. Ancestry, stories with happy endings, movies, scrabble. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
