About the job
About who needs care: My mom is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. She is starting to lose mobility as she isn't following the directions of her physical therapist. My dad takes care of her and does great but he needs someone to help him. Especially with the getting her up and moving part and doing her exercises and helping her be a little more active. It would also be great if we could incorporate a little light housekeeping. My brother and I live far from them and can't be there as much as we would like to help them. They do have a cat that they both adore. About the care needs: I am looking for someone who is patient but firm and will push my mom to be a little more active in and out of the house. An example could be getting her out for a short walk in the morning, encouraging her to do her physical therapy exercises, giving her someone to talk to and socialize with a little bit. Possibly someone who will attend the senior center activities with her. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
