About who needs care: My grandma is starting to get confused about little things and is sleeping less. The lack of sleep is causing stress on my mother and I because we work/care for her during the day. We need to get more sleep. Occasionally uses oxygen, has a heart condition leading to retaining liquid, struggling with losing independence, poor hygiene, says she doesn't want help but often needs it. Lack of interest in activities. Won't leave the house because she's embarrassed about being in a transportation chair. Wants to eat sugar all the time instead of meals. Most of her day is spent watching TV and dozing off throughout the day. About the care needs: Someone who will be calm with her until she warms up to accepting their help. Someone who will encourage her independence and not be restrictive unless it is absolutely necessary for safety reasons. Maybe someone who can get her to do some activities within the home and add some structure to her day. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
