My 82-yr old father tripped over a curb and broke his femur which required surgery. He was discharged to St Barnabas for physical therapy on Nov 25 and will be discharged from there in the next 1 to 2 weeks. We are looking to start with live-in home care to assist him with personal hygiene, getting dressed, and mobility within his home. He is married and lives with his 83-year-old wife who does not require assistance. Ideally, we would start with full time care for a couple weeks which would reduce to waking hours as he recovers, then to as-needed care. Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker and CPR / first-aid trained.
