About who needs care: She is physically very healthy - no serious medically issues. She is a little unsteady on her feet but not enough to require a cane or walker. But she is starting to have trouble remembering to do recurring tasks, keeping her little studio apartment tidy, shower, change her cat litter box, etc. She lives in an independent living sections. I live nearby but work full time and cannot get there regularly except on weekends. I am looking for someone friendly to visit with her, do some light tidying up, and be in the apartment when she showers. She doesn't need assistance to shower right now. We have her apartment cleaned once a month so its more just tidying up, doing a few dishes, etc. Days of the week can be flexible but I'm happy to provide more info as needed. suggestion Tuesdays and Thursdays because I can usually get over to see her on one of the weekend days. About the care needs: Be friendly. Act more like a kind friend than a professional healthcare aid. She used to be a hospice volunteer herself and when she moved to St Martha's 4 years ago she volunteered to visit patients in the memory care unit. She enjoyed visiting and chatting with her clients. I would like her to have experience now. No special skills required. I call her every night to remind her to take her meds. Checking the pill box to make sure that she's on the correct day is about the extend of anything remotely medical. She likes to crochet and play cards but she does have friends she does that with at St Martha's so it's not required. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
