About who needs care: My father has a permanent catheter. He loves to talk about his volunteer work at the church which is down the street. He loves the Phillies, and he reads the paper everyday. About the care needs: Looking for someone with a positive personality, A strong, domineering, bossy personality will not be a good fit. It is important that someone has the patience to listen, and be conversational. The right person would be skilled at offering assistance without my dad feeling that he is losing his independence. My dad is able to do simple tasks- but may need encouragement. The ideal person would check the dishes, make sure he has been eating, taking his meds. Check on the laundry, and cat. He has a cat- the right candidate would not be allergic. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
