About who needs care: She has cancer, but is free at the moment. I feed her with a Gruber, give her meds, drive her where she needs to go. She has also been diagnosed with dementia, but disagrees with the diagnosis. Ive been providing full-time care since February and am fine with it, but family feel I need an occasional break. It has not been a hassle for me. I honestly dont know when I need someone, but if she were used to someone else for a few hours, I might be able to explore future options. In fact, I probably could use advice from care. com more than hands on service. Down the pike, well definitely need something more, but Id want to keep us here as long as possible. The day and hours I picked were totally arbitrary. All days and hours are the same here. Its likely there would be no physical care involv3d. Maybe I could watch and learn some tips. About the care needs: Female would be more comfortable for her. Nice personality. Good listener. Forgot to mention she has hearing aids, wears them, regularly,, but is still sometimes hard to understand, especially when tired. Shes in a lot of pain from the radiation, so may need pain meds when staff is here. Services needed include: companionship.
