About the job
About who needs care: Spouse is in Home Hospice Care for terminal cancer. He needs a companion for safety and companionship when I need to be away for brief periods of time. At present time he is mobile enough to walk across living room to bathroom and get in and out of bed. We have walker and wheelchair if needed. He is alert and able to do most self care although he appreciates help with meal prep. He is very hard of hearing and also has a Scottish accent which for some is a bit hard to understand. Likes to watch golf, tennis, soccer on TV and sit in covered patio and look at garden. Currently this is Wednesdays from 10:30am-3:00pm; and 4:30-7:30 p.m. and Sundays from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. About the care needs: Woman with a good sense of humor. Main interest is in gardening although he cannot physically do this anymore. He likes to look at garden. He is from Scotland and has traveled a fair amount so travel is also a good discussion topic. He takes a lot of naps so person may need to have something along to entertain themselves when he is asleep. On Wednesdays meal prep may be needed for 2 meals. Services needed include: companionship.
