About the job
I am a full-time wheelchair user with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This is a progressive disease that gets worse as I get older. I am currently 34. I am also on ventilator and trach which I use to breathe. I have very little use of extremities and have a small number of head and neck movement. I am looking for someone to join my care team on Tuesdays from midnight until 8 a.m. No experience is necessary, but you must be willing to learn. I need someone who can be awake and alert at all times to monitor my breathing and ventilator needs. I will need help being transferred from my wheelchair to my bed. I will also need help with various trach care needs (suctioning, cough assisting, using a nebulizer). I need an employee that has a valid drivers license, is vaccinated against COVID-19, and is reliable.
