About who needs care: Early onset dementia, diabetes, neuropathy, she still smokes She likes to watch tv, sit outside, listen to music, call family members, go for rides, visit the dog park She wakes up early we make coffee together watch a show or pick a movie for the morning take morning medication pick a tv show or movie get dressed for the day (sometimes) make lunch take some time together outside listen to music call family members go for a ride in the car (visit dog park, get a sweet treat) look over a magazine until I get home from work. About the care needs: I need someone really available to build a relationship with my mom. She is very sensitive about her condition and instead of acknowledging she has dementia, she goes down on herself about her intelligence. She still likes to smoke, she's battling some pretty intense depression, someone willing to talk to her and listen to her, make a meal for her, answer the same question over and over again. Her short term memory retention can be as short as a minutes usually when it something that causes her anxiety. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
