Hands-on Care Needed For My Father In Portland

About who needs care: My Dad has congestive heart failure, diabetes and macular degeneration. He is entering hospice care at my home. He has limited mobility and is recently recovering from a stroke. He has a very good sense of humor, no real memory issues and very politically savvy and a Democratic, so no Republicans please. He's a Naval Veteran, was in the medical field for most of his life and a retired Anglican Priest. Until he had his stroke, he was watching daily mass and doing the rosary. He enjoys action, cop/fbi, veterinarian and DIY shows. He loves to read but hasn't be able to do that in the past month. I will be on family medical leave from my job for the next few months and managing his medication, food. His ideal day would be: Prayers/Mass after breakfast(I'll handle both including his medications) Getting dressed and assessing how he's feeling in general. What would be most helpful, is someone comes over early afternoon to assist with any other daily care including transferring from his bed to a chair and/or bathing. Maybe some companionship too. We don't have a set routine yet and won't until he's discharged from the hospital and transferred to my home. I might need more help into the evenings depending on how things go. The reality is he only has maybe a few months at best and I don't want each day to be such a struggle. About the care needs: We need someone very compassionate, gentle and kind. He's been through so much in the past month, we need someone very reliable also. With a good sense of humor too! My dad is a very large man-5. 9, 272 lbs. Someone will definitely need to be very strong to assist him with transferring and toileting as needed. If they are interested in any cop/action or DIY shows, that would be nice. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
