Companion Care Needed For My Mother In Portland

About who needs care: My mother is 77 and in very good physical health, but is slowing down and has begun to develop a lot of self-doubt about her ability to care for her home and tasks such as moving furniture, minor upkeep and repairs, etc. She lives alone and has for most of her life, aside from when I was an only child growing up. Never married or significantly partnered. Has well-managed atrial fibrillation; minor osteoporosis (diagnosed but not causing problems at this time). Very rigid and routine dependent. Still drives, but only in the daytime and to places she is familiar with. Some social interaction with good friends, but this is limited. Former journalist loves to read and identifies deeply as a lover of all things literary. Lover of art and music. Is vegan, feels strongly about animal and human rights. About the care needs: Can roll with rigidity and need for control. Someone who can calmly listen to anxious rumination and offer non-judgmental replies and meet her where she is with possible solution. Good sense of humor! Liberal social/political leanings. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
