About who needs care: Personality & Interests: - Warm, good-natured, friendly, and cooperative - Lifelong learner with a passion for languages, history, world -cultures, and the arts - Enjoys chess, library visits, practicing foreign languages, and -watching documentaries Health & Current Needs: -Generally in good health; exercises 5x per week at the pool -Passed a recent driving evaluation and still drives safely -Beginning to experience cognitive challenges, including increased forgetfulness, and has had occasional falls Living Situation: -Lives independently in a cottage on his daughters property -Family-oriented environment with shared family meals most evenings -His home is professionally deep-cleaned home twice a month; light housekeeping and tidying in between are appreciated Caregiver Role - We are looking for a kind, warm, and compassionate caregiver who is open to developing a family-like relationship with my dad and our household. We want someone to start with light-duty care and a flexible, part-time schedule, with the intention of increasing hours and responsibilities as his needs evolve. Initial Responsibilities (Part-Time): -Companionship: Engage in conversation, shared activities, and hobbies -Light housekeeping: Help with tidying, dishes, and laundry as needed -Meal prep: help prep meals for in-between visits, help coach him on preparing his own meals and eating healthy -Short walks: 510 minutes together -Language practice: Spanish-speaking or bilingual candidates preferred (he loves learning languages!) -Assist with driving and errands (mileage reimbursed) Potential Future Responsibilities (If Needed): -Monitor medications and help with medical appointments -Memory care, mobility care, bathing, incontinence care Desired Qualifications: - Basic CPR and First Aid certification - Reliable, safe driver (proof of insurance required if using own car) - Spanish-speaking or bilingual candidates preferred - Understanding of nutrition, ability to plan and prep low-sugar, protein and vegetable based meals. - Ability to help troubleshoot light computer issues (mostly his printer!) - Prepared to provide memory care, mobility care, bathing, incontinence care in the future if needed Schedule: We are starting with a 3-month trial period to ensure compatibility.
