About the job
About who needs care: My mother lives with me. She is able to take care of her personal needs but is weak and unsteady, so uses a walker and a wheelchair that she can get around in the house on her own. She has mild dementia. She is mostly homebound. She will watch TV and she enjoys doing jigsaw puzzles. She has two small dogs that are her constant companions. I can leave her for a few hours on her own. I think it would be nice for her to have someone who will sit with her; she is pretty isolated. About the care needs: An older woman would probably be a good fit. There would not be any heavy lifting. I think it would be nice for my mother to have someone to talk to and do the jigsaw puzzles with. The caregiver needs to be ok with animals as my mother has two small dogs and I have two indoor cats. Services needed include: companionship.
