Hands-on Care Needed For My Mother In Hillsboro

About who needs care: My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, it is currently in the moderate stage with the majority of her executive functioning being hindered. She is currently living with my aunt full time and cannot be left alone due to her disease. She loves to do coloring, word search, puzzles, shopping, watch TV, playing with her grandson, and going out to eat. She really needs to follow a routine and have consistency. She needs help with eating regularly (being prompted to do so), prompted to take her medications, exercise, prompted to shower, and also to clean her room and do laundry. She typically sleeps in until 9-10am, likes to watch while eating breakfast and we have it set up to have her exercise/walk after that. We try to minimize TV time, and have detailed out a schedule to follow of other activities to do like puzzling, coloring, and writing in her journal. It can be difficult to keep her on this schedule from time to time. About the care needs: We need someone who is extremely patient, kind, understanding, communicative, a good listener, and empathetic. Someone who is organized, detailed, and takes initiative. Would prefer someone with experience working with Alzheimer and Dementia patients in order to deal with the specific behaviors and traits that can come with the disease. As well as being able to communicate with this type of person should any behaviors or big reactions occur. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship
