We're looking for a caregiver for my husband (age 76), disabled by a stroke. He is largely dependent and requires considerable help with grooming, dressing and meals; most importantly, we require someone experienced with stroke-immobilized patients. He needs one-person assistance with all transfers, including frequent trips to the bathroom. He's an agreeable, creative, highly intelligent fellow, but his gaps in executive function (intake of information, decision-making, orientation) means he is sometimes frustrated and annoyed and not always easy to deal with. We will be staying with my sister- and brother-in-law in their home--they also have a dog--so there will be quite a bit of activity and limited privacy. We're all very caring people, so it's a good--if not always easy--environment. Some flexibility in scheduling.
