About who needs care: My mother has dementia and lives alone with her smaller (35lb) dog. Her dementia has declined to the point where she needs assistance. She used to like to walk the dog, go to the gym, and get coffee. She can still dress and bath and fix easy meals for herself. However, she needs someone to get her out of the house, make sure she takes her medication, buy groceries, and make sure she is eating properly. About the care needs: Mom's caregiver will have to be very patient with her. She is slow in everything that she does and has a lot of trouble remembering things. Someone with a knowledge of cognitive decline will be a good fit. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
