About who needs care: Had traumatic brain injury Jan 2, 2025- multiple small brain bleeds. Has had 2 hospital stays, 2 rehab center stays and is now at home. Often confused, sometimes has "spells" where he gets weak, leans on the cabinet or closest stable thing next to him and rubs his head. After a couple of minutes he is fine. Constantly says his head does not hurt. Stable blood pressure is a concern. He loves working in the yard during the summer. Loves horses - used to ride a lot and has been on several trail rides. Is a retired banker, (was) very intellectual and smart. Currently we have an OT and Speech therapist who come to the house twice a week. He needs to do more cognitive work when they are not here. He likes to be active if his body cooperates -- currently will make the bed each morning but haphazardly and not in order. Idea day? After lunch no more than an hour nap, sitting or walking outside, cognitive exercise at least 2 times if you can get him to do that. About the care needs: Someone who is outgoing, likes the outdoors, horses, can hold their own when engaged in conversation. I teach piano from our home; they would need to be able to stand hearing repetitive music, wrong notes, correct notes, great music, not-so-great music and be able to keep my husband out of the studio (converted garage). I would really like to have someone who can take his blood pressure on a regular basis and knows CPR. Both of us do needlework - or he did. I still do. Services needed include: companionship.
