My mother, Judith (85), broke her shoulder and hip this past year. She cannot walk and only has use of one arm. She also suffers from well managed bipolar disorder which manifests somewhat like dementia in that she needs help moving from chair to bed to couch several times a day. One person can move her and her legs are quite strong. She lives with my father in their own home on Atwood Lake in Sherrodsville, Ohio. They are planning to move to assisted living sometime in the next few weeks. We are looking for care 3-4 days a week (Sat/Sun/Mon and possibly Thursday) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. They are very quiet private people who appreciate being treated like adults who need help. I would prefer my father not drive and that the caregiver drive for any errands that need to be done. Dad is completely independent. :)
