About who needs care: Carol, my mother-in-law, has dementia. She is able to get around the house, but generally spends her time sitting. She watches tv, does crosswords sometimes, and sleeps. Her mood is usually good, but she gets irritated with her husband, Joe 92, and her son Rob 53, who live with her. Joe and Rob need some care as well. Joe has cancer, and can not do what he has done for the past 10 years, which was taking care of Carol and Rob. Rob has diabetes type 1, and has a multitude of health problems. The three of them are in need of daily care, possibly 8-1 everyday, or something like that. About the care needs: Joe, like most people who are ok, is angry about not being able to do things he used to do. Carol has no clue Joe has cancer. Carol may need help with showering, because shes weak and her muscles are atrophied. Joe and Rob are ok with bathing themselves. There is a cat in the home ( in case of allergies ). Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
