I'm looking for in home care companionship for my mother in her 80s. She requires 24/7 care, but I am flexible on the composition of shifts. The most important things for a caregiver for her are an abundance of patience and experience with late stage dementia. My mother dementia (Alzheimer's and Lewy Body) cause her to suffer from hallucinations and delusions. While I shower her, a care provider would need to dress her and be comfortable administering medication. I need someone willing to do meal prep and light housekeeping. Personal care required, including toileting assistance and sometimes help with feeding. Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker, with reliable transportation and who is CPR / first-aid trained. Applicants must be consistent and reliable; a lack of those is why I am leaving the agency I have used for her.
