About who needs care: My mom has early Alzheimer's dementia and can no longer drive, but she likes to get out of the house everyday and get something to eat. She isn't very steady on her feet and could use encouragement to do her PT to regain her mobility. When she was younger she loved to travel, and she loves meeting new people from different places. About the care needs: Obviously, the ideal caregiver would be a caring person that would provide one-on-one attention and companionship for my mother. She lives with my father and brother, but after a stroke, my father can't really speak, and my brother is focused on taking care of my dad, so mom could use some attention. She likes to get out of the house every day, so that's the main thing she needs help with. If they are familiar with senior activities she could go to, that would be helpful. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
