About who needs care: Loves everything about cooking, loves cats, and gardening. She's an immigrant from Romania and has lived here for almost 30 years. She suffers from depression, anxiety, and diabetes mainly. Has had a stroke in the past and a few other miscellaneous medical issues. Has a hard time using stairs and driving at night. During the week she assists her husband with his trucking company. She's cooks dinner everyday, and rarely misses it even when she feels sick. Every Saturday she cleans the whole house. She also takes care of several cats which have needs to be met everyday. The main concern for her is having a companion so she doesn't get lonely, but also someone to check in on her often in case of another stroke or other medical emergency. She's pretty capable to do most things although hard manual labor like mowing the lawn or moving heavy objects is not doable anymore for her. About the care needs: A patient person who will listen but also to share stories with mom. Mom is very lonely and comes from an old world, it's hard for her to make friends and find someone to talk to. Mom doesn't like to ask for help but she really needs it so having a keen eye open for ways to help out would be lovely. Someone who also likes cooking, gardening, and cats would be great. Someone from or around Romania would be even better. Mom doesn't need special care, she's just a vulnerable person who is at risk to health crisis if she's alone for a long time. And again, has a hard time moving heavy objects or doing hard labor. Services needed include: companionship, and mobility assistance.
