About who needs care: Maria is 63 y/o, alert & oriented. Maria was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that affects her brain. She has a history of strokes and seizures. Last hospitalization for and autoimmune flare up was for 3 weeks at CCF Main Campus and was sent home on 12/12/23. *friendly CATS & 2 DOGS (toy poodle) in the home. Cameras in the home.**FALL RISK*. Safety/Supervision. Using a walker/cane independently. At this time she can toilet herself independently, but may need help if she has an accident. (Wearing Depends). Please make sure she's wearing her compression stockings daily. She must have them on during the day. The autoimmune disease has causes intermittent confusion, and disorientation at times. Maria can really use company & companionship. We need caregivers to assist with medication reminders, assist with breakfast/lunch/snacks. Maria cannot cook, she will forget to turn off the stove, please assist her with this. She's diabetic and independently routinely checks her blood sugar 3x a day (AM,NOON,PM). Please just remind her to check her BS and record it in her log book. Pill box is filled by family and will be on the kitchen counter. Please help Maria work on her exercises. Possibly help with errands or going on short walks with her, weather permitting. Maria should be able to shower/dress herself independently, but we asked her not to shower unless someone is home. The caregiver just needs to listen for her. (Meds are taken in the AM, NOON, EVENING, BEDTIME). Maria needs a lot of encouragement and motivation when it comes to completing tasks or helping her build up her mobility and strength. Encourage/assist her to complete her laundry, sweep, or vacuum. The doctors want her moving around every few hours. Recently diagnosed in 12/2023 with elevated calcium. Her DR'S want to try to push fluids as much as possible, she needs to work on staying hydrated. Maria is very friendly, and usually very easy going. She does speak Spanish as well. HX: DX w/ an autoimmune disease in 2016 Amyloid Beta Related Angiitis, strokes, seizures, diabetes. About the care needs: Caregiver needs to be pet friendly! Personable, Engaging, and Hardworking. Reliability is a very important factor. Maria needs consistency with a caregiver. A caregiver that is able to provide and recognize important care details/change in condition/ and recognize notable changes in cognition. Assist with ADL's, personal care assistance when needed, meal prep, & med reminders. Encourage Maria to complete household tasks, assist her when needed. We need to keep Maria as independent as possible. If anyone knows how to speak Spanish would be a benefit to Maria but not a requirement. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
