About who needs care: Some baseline dementia that is worse with stress or medical flare ups. History of Congestive Heart Failure and COPD. Limited mobility, needs help with hygiene and generally not sitting all day alone. Encouragement to eat or try new recipes. We will have an OT and PT coming 2x per week as well but have been advised it best if she not left alone for long periods and my Dad still works and local sister can only come 2 days per week. Just need fill in for probably 4-6 hours per day that my Dad or Sister can't be there. About the care needs: My mom has grown to be more private and less social as she's aged. They do have a cat that is generally afraid of visitors but the caregiver should be cat-friendly (ie not allergic) - some light dusting, vacuuming, cleaning would be a big help as it gets dusty/cat hair. My mom doesn't respond well to loud or overly talkative people-- it just wears her out. She likes flowers and gardening. The caregiver should have experience with dementia or cognitive impairment. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
