About who needs care: My mom is friendly and funny. She has dementia and progressive short term memory loss. At one time my mom had many hobbies and interests. She put herself through college while raising me, graduating summa cum laud after 11 years. She is still quick witted and observant. However, other than limited conversations (due to her memory loss - lots of repetition), television, and her two cats, she has no current interests. Her mood is better on the days I have 2-3 (intermittent) hours to spend with her, but this is difficult for me to maintain, so I hope to find good company for her. Other tasks will be simple and minimal.
