About who needs care: Give peg tube and pureed meals 2 times during the day. Currently needs briefs changed as needed, typically 2 to 3 times. Working towards standing and using the toilet in the next few weeks. Stroke caused left side to not work - arm not at all and leg is working about 60% and getting stronger to enable her to get back up out of bed and into the wheelchair or toilet seat with assistance in the coming weeks. Needs very little other than someone to be there to assist with those few things. Time involved during the day to do the above is likely less than 2 hours, but we need someone there to just be available when she needs something. The rest of day with her would be as a companion or just to be there and the caregiver can relax or do other things at the house, like watch tv or be in the yard with the monitor speaker on them or a number of other things. Its not like working a job 8 to 6 for sure. Much easier and more flexible. Possible live in opportunity in the family home with the right person. We want to fill the position as soon as possible. Dependable, trustworthy, happy and outgoing personality, and well liked by others. Caregiver does not need specialized training. We have been doing the daily care ourselves for the last 3 months with no medical backgrounds or specialized skills. We listened to the nurses and aides and did what they showed us. Nothing hard or special. The biggest thing would be changing briefs and assisting her getting into the wheelchair or on a portable toilet seat by the bed. Her mind is all there and she loves talking and doing lots of things. Services needed include: mobility assistance.
