About the job
About who needs care: Mom has RA, depression, sogns if dementia, edema, trilple scoliosis of the spine, mobility/balance issues *fall risk*. She's steadily falling a couple of times a week; gets bruised up. She has a walker and cane - difficult to get her to use them regularly. She falls asleep standing up or sitting on edge of her bed. She is Catholic, enjoys music and watches the news a lot. She used to garden and would like to be able to go for walks. We basically need help so my Dad can get some relief. About the care needs: Someone who is very patient and has a good sense of humor. Someone who is firm but kind and can tolerate some bad attitude/crankiness. She does complain a lot, she is generally a negative person... so someone that can deal with that would be good. A good listener. Should know how to assist her with things but doesn't do everything for her. Mom is stubborn and thinks she's independent, but expects people to do stuff for her. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
