About who needs care: Hi my name is Cheryl and I am looking for a in home care for my mentally disabled father. He has Alzheimers and unfortunately gets very agitated whenever leaving his home. He needs constant guidance, supervision, redirection and reassurance. He needs someone to give him his medications of which he has quite a few. He is also very sensitive and stubborn. He needs a gentle but firm guided support system. He sleeps a lot too so care would usually be light housekeeping and meal feeding prep. Unless otherwise specified care wouldn't be overnight or require bathing or being with him at night. He does get sundowners sometimes. I am his primary caregiver and his only child so in the interest of taking care of myself emotionally and physically would need this time to take care of things for myself. About the care needs: I am looking for someone who is very kind hearted gentle but firm. Someone with experience with Alzheimers would be best. He gets very stubborn and believing himself capable of driving and being independent which she cannot. He needs a lot of direction to do things. So someone who is very patient would be a plus. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
