About who needs care: Dad is recovering from surgery. He was bedridden for 2 months, and during that time, his ability to walk and use the restroom deteriorated due to his muscles becoming atrophied. Prior to surgery he was able to walk with the aid of a walker, and use the toilet. We are hopeful he will be able to resume mobility with continued at home physical therapy. About the care needs: My Dad is a fairly large man (250), so the ideal candidate would need to take that into consideration. We have no preference on the gender of caregiver but wanted them to know Dad needs considerable assistance. We have a semi automatic electrical hospital bed, and when he is able, a portable commode. A Physical Therapist and a nurse from another agency will provide weekly therapy and follow up care. Dad is an avid car collector and is active in both the Model A and Model T auto clubs, a he is former small aircraft pilot. He is a good conversationalist. He shares his home with his wife, and his son lives next door. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
