About who needs care: Mary, my 85-year-old mother needs moderate assistance with household activities, cleaning, cooking and maybe some assistance bathing. Her needs will increase over time. She wants to continue to do as much for herself as she can, as long as possible. She is a high risk to fall if she is trying to accomplish too much by herself. Mom is a kind, sweet person, easy to get along with, a faithful Christian and would appreciate it if her caregiver shared her love for Jesus. Her insurance will pay about $18/hrs for 13 hours a week. At this time she might want help 2 or 3 days a week as it fits with the caregivers schedule. She is most active in the morning and needs to rest a lot after noon. Help on Fridays is most important. About the care needs: She would like Christian caregiver that enjoys sharing about Jesus. Believe it or not, she still wants to garden. If the caregiver, add gardening skills or interest, that would be awesome. She will not be happy with life when she is no longer able to garden. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
