About who needs care: Caregivers needed in our home for my 48yo husband who has had ALS for 8 years. Hours that we need coverage are Tuesdays 4:30-10, Wednesdays 8:30-5, Thursdays 4:30-10, Saturdays 9-10 (can split the shift) and Sundays 9-4:30. Must be comfortable with the following duties, but we will train of course: G-tube feedings, transfers using a lift, driving a power wheelchair, showering using a shower chair, doing range of motion stretches while he's in bed, and using condom catheters. Also worth noting is he has lost his ability to speak and uses a computer to speak what he types with his eyes. Also, must love dogs because our little guy loves to play ball and be wherever his dad is, including going on walks! Light housework would be part of the job as well; when he is in his recliner, which is a lot, caregivers help me with household chores. There is also plenty of downtime. Other requirements: female, reliable, non-smoker, family-oriented, physically able to do this care, native English speaker, able to commit to steady schedule About the care needs: Some experience necessary, but we will train you on whatever you don't know. Must be confident in learning and picking up new skills. Outgoing, younger, physically capable of handling these tasks. We are a young family looking for someone who fits in well in our home! Services needed include: transportation, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
