My mother is a bright 91-year-old NY artist . She has mild dementia . She still walks upstairs but starting to lose strength in her legs. Uses a walker and when venturing out of the house a collapsible wheelchair . She is a voracious reader of books but has limited energy and typically sleeps from 9 p.m. til 12 noon . She struggles with anxiety and occasional panic attacks or bad dreams . She loves good food but requires careful attention to what she can eat . She has A-fib , high cholesterol , bipolar disorder and needs assistance bathing . Meds are prepacked and dispensed twice daily. She is happiest reading , watching good movies , listening to music and when not depressed a good conversation . Her days are simple. She needs coaching on light PT exercises or venturing out.
