Hi, I am a C5/C6 quadriplegic and I'm looking for a caregiver with a medical background who can become a long time employee. The job is a live-in job when you are helping me, and then when you are not working with me, the relief caregiver will switch with you and you will go home. The most important part of the job is helping me get ready in the morning. This includes transfers using a Hoyer lift from my bed to wheelchair and shower chair, doing a bowel regimen/enema, and stretching. Knowledge/comfort administering the enema and ability to help me with stretching is important. During the day I need intermittent assistance stretching and emptying my catheter bag. At night, I need to be turned once. The morning and the night are the most demanding, with a decent amount of downtime in the afternoon and evening.
